Access Control Systems
Most major hotels use magnetic cards as keys to their rooms. Any property management or kiosk system has to
communicate with the access control system in order for a guest card to be created on check in.
For Kinetics, a provider of self check in stations for most American airlines, I designed and implemented
a program that can communicate with several access control systems so that a room key can be created at their
kiosk in a hotel environment.
Working for Micros-Fidelio, I implemented an access control interface for an Australian casino that allows the
use of VIP cards as door keys. This allows VIP guests to check in by phone and proceed to their room without
having to stop at the reception desk.
For SAP I programmed an interface to a VingCard access control system to be used at their
beta site for a hotel module.
